Common reasons your air conditioner may not be blowing cold air include restricted airflow due to clogged filters, blocked vents or ducts, and incorrect thermostat settings. If you've checked these and tried some DIY fixes without success, it's time to call a professional. Our qualified technicians can address issues like faulty compressors, electrical problems, refrigerant leaks, and more.
Some signs that your air conditioner is failing include weak or low airflow, unusual noises such as hissing or grinding, unpleasant odours, leaking, and increased energy bills. This indicates underlying problems like compressor issues, blocked filters, or a refrigerant leak that need professional attention.
Don't wait for a complete breakdown — contact us for comprehensive servicing and repairs.
There are a few telltale signs of low refrigerant. You should call out a professional technician if your air conditioner is:
- Blowing warm or lukewarm air
- Taking a long time to cool down your home
- Cycling on/off frequently (short cycling)
- Showing ice on the evaporator coil or refrigerant lines
- Producing a hissing or bubbling sound
- Contributing to higher energy bills
Regular checks can catch problems like this early, keeping your unit running efficiently and reliably.
Signs that your air conditioner might need servicing include:
- Reduced cooling efficiency where the unit struggles to maintain desired temperatures, could be due to various issues like clogged filters or refrigerant leaks.
- Unusual noises such as grinding or squealing, may suggest mechanical problems that need addressing. Bad odours, resulting from mould or mildew buildup, indicate poor air quality and may require cleaning.
- Higher energy bills often suggest your system is working harder than necessary, possibly due to components needing maintenance.
We recommend servicing your air conditioner annually to keep it performing optimally.
We’ll provide you with a personalised quote for servicing costs before any work begins. Factors influencing the cost include your aircon system type, complexity, age, and scope of work required, such as additional repairs or parts replacement. Regular annual servicing, ideally before summer, can prevent major issues and keep it operating smoothly during Perth’s hottest months.
